not really, the techniques would be the same used for any password hacking tool, like dictionaries... if the only thing typed in the session is the password, it might be really difficult; but, once there is "un-encrypted" sounds being typed (dictionary words), key id becomes a lot easier.

Literally impossible, all keyboards sound different, all people type different, theres no consistent difference in sound key to key, etc x 100.....

I don't think its as simple as presented, but not impossible if you expand the details/requirements a little... In theory if it had enough time and examples to learn from in a new environment, and say a quality microphone and whatnot... It might be able to detect key press sounds and determine areas of the keyboard the press came from to get an idea of a range of possible key presses and extrapolate a short list from that much easier to break than the password should be. Especially if the password is made of real words.
But I agree a universal plug and play solution without training on the exact environment in use would be essentially impossible. But how little calibration would be necessary to conduct the attack would be an interesting question.
