Anthropic took a public position on SB 1047, California’s proposed artificial intelligence legislation, for the first time since the state legislature amended the bill to accommodate requests from the AI company. In a letter to Calif. Gov. Gavin Newsom, Anthropic said the amended bill is “substantially improved, to the point where we believe its benefits likely outweigh its costs.”

Ethics isn’t a law. So there’s that.
Agreed with the copyright stuff, but there is also IP “free use” when it’s transformative. But that’s not the stuff I was talking about.

It was more so AI images of public figure RE: photoshop. Parody is still legal, and many of them are quite comical. Are there dark ones out there? Sure, but you have to kinda be looking for it, same thing goes with dark posts/tweets which are just word but can cross the line if actionable threats are made. Same penalties should apply to images that cross a defined line.
