They are doing the same thing all over. All of the AIs scraped Stack Overflow to build their databases years ago and now they have profited from it, OpenAI is paying them for user contributions directly. Of course none of this money goes to the ones actually generating the content.

It's endlessly funny to me (and by that I mean not funny at all) that these companies scraped the entire internet for their AIs, including all the stories and all the artworks everyone you personally know has ever created - all the while arguing that it is their absolute right to do so without asking - and now they are willing to pay millions to big corporations for the same thing.

The exact same thing they are arguing they should get for free.

Are they going to give any small artists some compensation for this, too? Lol, of fucking course not. They won't see a cent, while big corporations will make millions from this.

And I'm not even against AI! The tech is amazing. But Jesus Christ these tech bros are just horrible human beings.
