OpenAI’s latest buzzy product launch was Sora 2, which is a social app thats entires AI-generated videos. Expect to hear the word “slop” a lot more if Sora 2 takes off. (Slop mongering has taken over my social feed— a sentence that would have made no sense a few years ago.) It appears that the TikTokification of #Artificial Intelligence is upon us, with foundation model companies eagerly serving up hot slop for the human trough. Sora 2’s technology certainly appears impressive. AI really can gin up videos today that are longer, more believable, and steerable than ever before.
